My name is Rachel and I am 73 years old.

For some time now, I have experienced severe pain in my shoulder that ran all the way down my arm. The pain kept me awake at night, and was so severe that I turned to several types of medications for relief, but their side effects only made me feel worse.

On the advice of a friend, I went to see Dr. Carl Conforti in the beginning of June, 2005. After just 3 visits, I was relieved of my pain, and with follow-up visits for minor adjustments, I am now pain free. I feel like a new person!

I was in a car accident  in April 2005. Through all the pain and discomfort, Conforti Chiropractic was there for me. The gentle chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Michael Turner and Dr. Carl Conforti, and the massages from Treva, Mike, and the other therapists, really helped relieve alot of the pain and discomfort. Their warmth amd concern was always evident.

Later, as I progressed into Physical Therapy, Erin, Monaca, and Joe's therapy was so beneficial in helping me on my road to recovery. Not only did I benefit from the physical manipulations and therapy, but the kindness and concern of the staff was such a bright spot in my life.

From the friendly greetings and helpfulness at the front desk delivered by Jennifer and Janet, to the thoughtfulness of Wayne in answering my billing questions; I was always made to feel that my health amd well-being was very important to everyone there.

I came to Dr. Carl in desperation.

Traditional doctors were doing me no good at all; I was exhausted from months of sleepless, pain-filled nights and hoirfied at the prospectof major surgery. I was also highly skeptical acout chiropractors...but that was eighteen months ago.

Driving down Tampa Road in tears because of pain and hopelessness, I noticed Dr. Carl's office and turned in. Jennifer greeted me-not dismissively as I was used to in traditional clinics- but, with an expression of such sympathy, she gave me her full attention as if I was the most important client. Since then, I have come to think the worlf of Jennifer; I trust her implicity and her lovely personality brightens my every visit.

I was offered an immediate consultation- compare that with traditional clinics! When advised that x-rays would be taken in-house, I was secretly relieved at such a scientific approach because I thoguht that chiropractic was basically a load of mumbo jumbo. So did my husband who accompanied me to the consultation.

Dr. Carl was disconcertingly honest in assessing my condition- but also helpfully direct. With the aid of the x-rays he explained what was wrong and what needed to be put back in place. It all made such sense. He gave me no promise of a miraculous recovery but he did give me hope that an intensive schedule of adjustments should lead to aby steps" of cumulative improvement...therby removing the necessity for surgery. My husband is a very logical, practical person and he was extremely impressed by Dr. Carl and all he had to say.

It has not been all smooth sailing. Many times I have been frustrated because the pain would dissipate but then return. I would get mad at Dr. Carl when he urged me to think positive. I wanted to blame him when he would get something back in position but then it would pop back out again. I wanted an end to it all and thought that hip replacement surgery would be a quick fix. Through all this, Dr Carl sometimes had to be stern to be kind but he gradually educated me about the adverse effects of medication and the risks of invasive surgery. I have alsocome to the conclusion that, like a vehicle, once fixed the only way to keep running smoothly is to have regular "oil changes" or adjustments. It is a great feeling to know that one can age healthily this way without resorting to more and more pain medications.

So how am I doing after eighteen months? Sure-"baby steps"- but when I look back at then adn now, the difference makes me glow. Most times then I could hardly walk down my drive to the mailbox- now I do not think twice about going on a mile hike; then, I would wait in the car while my husband went into Home Depot- I could not straighten up fast enough to walk with him across the car park- now I am the one ahead of him with the shopping trolley. I do mess things up though- sometimes I will overdo the yard work or the cycling but that is okay, because I know Dr. Carl understands my desire to live life to the full physcially and after a could more adjustments, I am back in business.

Surgery?....What surgery!

This testimonial has become a little lengthy, but I want to share with other folks some of the unpublicized reasons why visiting Dr. Carl is so therapeutic:

Unlike regular attendance at the traditional clinic, I quickly found that visiting Dr Carl's office is an absolute delight. It is such a happy, positive place! Begin with a warm and personal greeting from the front desk girls, then relax for as long as you like on the hydrotherapy bed. Gentle music and subtle fragrances. This is truly a centre for "wellness." Nothing depressing or clinical here.

Then there is Dr Carl himself- I have left the best for last. You feel you are in the presence of a thoroughly good person. You light up when you see him and he makes you feel like family. He is never rushed-it seems he has all the time in the world for you- but you have to be positive. His adjustments are precise and painless. You know that he is completely focused on helping your body to heal itself.

He is the ultimate professional and the best friend you will ever have.

Conforti Chiropractic-

For the last two years I have suffered a great deal with sinus headaches and pressure, caused by a combination of allergies and tension in my neck. The condition can even cause dizzyness.

I am on a great deal of allergy medicine, but it does not always help. I had read that chiropractic treatment can help such headaches. I sought such treatment and it has helped the condition. The discomfort is considerably less.

I also have a problem with pain and weakness in the lower back, from a fracture caused by osteoporosis. I am receiving medication for this condition to rebuild the bone, but the chiropractic treatments are helping to reduce the pain and making me feel much stronger so that I am able to work more normally.

Last year my former chiropractor returned to New York. It was a shock since I had been going to her for quite a while and I did not like her replacement. I procrastinated for about six months. trying to find a new doctor. By May it hurt to do just about anything. Finally, my daughter's friend highly recommended you.

I entered with caution for our first discussion, liked what I heard and fortunately decided to jump in. Thank goodness I did.

 Dr. Conforti and Dr. Turner-

 Looking back now, I wish I would have made a visit to Dr. Conforti’s
office when I first pulled my back out.  But, being a full-time working
mom, I put myself off and handled what I thought at the time to be
‘more pressing issues.’  Well, come to find out, I made a mistake
by doing such and suffered even more so.

Seeing that I was recommended to Dr. Conforti’s office by my Yoga
instructor a few months prior, I called them during my most painful
period and scheduled an appointment.   From the very beginning, starting
with the front desk staff, I was very impressed.  I met with Dr. Turner
who did quite a bit of x-rays and diagnostic tests.  He saw me for a few
days in a row, using the traction table and adjustments, but no relief
came about.  He ordered an MRI which indicated that I had two herniated
discs.  (No wonder the pain was so unbearable!)  Strange to me, it
wasn't the lower back that ached; I had pain down the entire leg where
the sciatic nerve gave me a fit!!

After consulting with him and Dr. Conforti, it was decided that I was a
good candidate for the DRX 9000 machine, so my husband and I thought it
the best and only thing to do, since I did not want to even think about
surgery.  Well, the pain during the first few treatments was also
somewhat of a relief…..it took quite a while for me to feel ‘back to
normal’, yet I went through 26 treatments and thought the machine a
miraculous thing! I was walking and upright after being able to do
nothing but lay down for weeks on end.

Since then, I have been having weekly adjustments and still dealing
with a slight discomfort in the calf.  Doing stretches morning and night
does help.  Anyway, life is good and I’m on my way to a healthy,
active lifestyle again.

My sincere thanks to the entire staff for all their efforts to help me
through the most difficult, uncomfortable experience I’ve ever
encountered.
